Botulinum neurotoxin

Cambridge Biostability is a major collaborator in a $5.4 million grant awarded by the US National Institutes of Health to DVC LLC, a CSC Company, for the development of thermo-stable multivalent vaccine formulations designed to provide protection against botulism.

Botulism is caused by the botulinum neurotoxin which is generally recognised as one of the deadliest naturally occurring substances. There are many naturally occurring, yet immunologically distinct serotypes of botulinum neurotoxin and each one currently requires its own vaccine to provide protection and to cover all possibilities of combating botulism. At CBL, a single vaccine formulation is being developed which will confer protection against seven of the most common botulinum neurotoxins.

Anthrax

Cambridge Biostability is part of a consortium led by Avecia Vaccines who are developing a third generation anthrax vaccine that will be stable and ready to inject without any preparation in the field.

Cambridge Biostability Limited is a limited company registered in England & Wales with registered number 003630055 and having its registered office at Unit 184, Cambridge Science Park, Milton Road, Cambridge, CB4 0GA, UK.
